Guadalupan`s Theology

Called sometimes "The Fifth Gospel" , the Guadalupe´s narration involves the most important points to stablish Chist`s doctrine, the María`s spiritual position as God`s Mother and mankind mediator infront Him.
It gives us elements that makes Her to be the first and more important evangelizer af all New World people
Whith Her hope message to the world., She is a truly conduct example to follow.

THEOLOGY OF THE GUADALUPAN EVENT.- The word "theology" gives us the idea of "experiences and communications related to God". The "Guadalupan Event" is a complex and enriching irruption of God into our world. Mary of Guadalupe is presented as the Mother of God, with the names that the Mexicas, inhabitants of the Valley of Mexico, used to refer to God. She makes Herself known as the Mother of "In huel nelli Teotl": "True God who is the Root of everything" ; as the Mother of "Ipalnemohuani": "He for Whom we Live and because of Whom everything moves"; Mother of "Teyocoyani": "The Creator of people"; Mother of "Tloque Nahuaque": Creator of the "Near" and of the "Close to"; of "Ilhuicahua in tlalticpaque": "Lord of Heaven and Earth".

It is extremely important to discover the manifestation of God throughout the Guadalupan event: the colors, the numbers, the names, the symbols, the proceedings, the results....everything in the light of the Mexica culture and religion.

The "Guadalupan Event" is a true Evangel -Gospel-. This word, which comes from the Greek, means: "Good News". And the Event really contains different good news. Not only one piece of good news. Mary of Guadalupe (Tlecuauhtlapcopeuh) is "The One Who comes from the Region of the Light, like the Fire Eagle"; and the fire that transforms Her into the sun is the Child-Sun She carries in Her womb. These are the good news that bring us joy. Good News because Mary of Guadalupe restores Juan Diego’s dignity as a person, as a responsible protagonist of the event, capable of successfully carrying out his mission. Juan Diego’s good news are effective words.

She undoubtedly cures Juan Diego’s uncle, Juan Bernardino, already hopelessly agonizing because of a mortal illness. Juan Bernardino personifies the Mexica people, conquered, disheartened, contaminated. Mary of Guadalupe turns the Tepeyac into a garden of rare, exquisite, fresh, aromatic and meaningful roses. Neither the weather nor the place were appropriate for the roses to grow.

Mary of Guadalupe also transforms the heart of the person who was in charge of the religious center: Friar Juan de Zumárraga so that he would accept the instructions comming from the periphery. Tlatltelolco is also to recognize the strength of the truth that emerges from the world of the people who were conquered: and the people who were conquered repeated and spread all the words that Mary of Guadalupe said on the Tepeyac.
