GUADALUPAN STUDIES CENTER

This section consists of four parts. The first one, a permanent one, will provide information about the Center's objectives, organization, performance and trajectory. The second section will present an outline of the C.E.G. last activities. The third one, will schedule the coming up reunions and the last section shall reproduce, every month, one of the articles published by the Revista Histórica, which is the diffusion instrument of the Center.

The Center, founded in 1972, is formed by 74 members, from different disciplines. It carries out research, it fosters study, it gives conferences, it issues periodic publications and promotes knowledge and love towards Our Lady of Guadalupe.

It works in close coordination with ecclesiastic authorities so that it can meet its objectives, support Primate Bishop's tasks and serve our Holy Lady of Guadalupe. Therefore, the following actions are scheduled and carried out:

To participate, with more strength, in the Archbishopric programs.
To strengthen the activities of the Basílica through its presence and work.
To continue with the academic events that have been developed.
To increase the promotion of studies on Our Lady of Guadalupe.
To carry out an annual course on "Mariología Guadalupana, at the international level, with limited attendance. The professors shall be personages from the Archbishopric, from the Basílica and from the Center itself. Such course would have a curricular academic value and would be aimed at updating, diffusing and channeling the knowledge about the Great Event.
To promote the reorganization of a Guadalupan Museum.
To contribute in the preservation of the Basilica's library.
To request that the most important original documents about Our Lady of Guadalupe be returned to the Library.
To organize a microfilm file and a data base in computers.
To continue and to spread INTERLUPE program.
To enhance the diffusion of the knowledge about the Guadalupan Miracle.
To stimulate research on the historicity of the Wonderful Event.
To promote research work on Our Lady of Guadalupe, Juan Diego and the Basílica.
To continue with the idea that the Basílica, besides its spiritual importance in the world, must also be a scientific research and documentation Center about the Miracle in the Tepeyac, with international recognition.
To propitiate and accelerate Juan Diego's Cause of canonization.
Guadalupan Studies Center regrets the dead of Professor Odilon Jurado last Month. Remarcable mexican intelectual and important colaborator of INTERLUPE. Please pray, and may God bless him.
